FM AUTOMATION– Integration of a filling machine in a warehouse management system.
Industry 4.0 project

🙍‍♂️ Client: Astra Vernici Srl , a leading local paint manufacturer.

🔎 Need: integrate a machine on the paint production line, specifically a completely independent and disconnected filling machine, with the company's #ERP #SAP Business One system.

⚡ Activities: as part of an Industry 4.0 digitalization plan, it was decided to integrate the machine with the company's ERP system, created with SAP Business One by Real-Time Srl, enabling it to accept incoming production order lists , process them, and output the order closing data and the related machine data associated with the order. To achieve machine integration, a software application called #fmIND40 by FM Automazione was used, capable of communicating with the existing management system on one side and with the machine ( PLC #Omron CP1L) on the other .

🎯 Result: The machine, previously completely disconnected, has been fully integrated into the company IT system, first with regard to networking thanks to the collaboration with SHELLI SRL and then with the SAP Business One system. The machine now receives production orders that operators view and manage with a local operator panel (Web Panel). At the end of each order's production, the related data is saved and made available again to the ERP system that manages production and the warehouse. The machine is now integrated and exchanges data bidirectionally with the company system and, following an assessment, has been declared compliant with the Industry 4.0 digitalization criteria.
